    During July, the 50th anniversary of the first manned landing and walk on the moon by Apollo 11, The Plains Indians & Pioneers Museum is proud to offer an exhibit of Program Apollo artifacts on loan. Then, on July 20th (2 p.m.), Mr. Dan Schneider will present "Apollo in My Rear View Mirror". Mr. Schneider was an aerospace engineer working on Project Apollo and will offer firsthand insights into what it took to achieve one of the greatest feats of the latter 20th century. Apollo in My Rear View Mirror is made possible in part by a grant from Oklahoma Humanities (OH) and the National Endowment for the Humnanities (NEH). Any views, findings, conclusions, or recommendations expressed in this program do not necessarily represent those of OH or NEH.

The amateur astronomers of Starcreek Astronomical Society in Woodward, Oklahoma, are hosting star parties at the Selman Living Laboratory Observatory. *Weather needs to be clear or partly cloudy and no severe storms coming *Stargazing begins when it gets dark. Come & go and Free of Charge *Wear comfortable clothes, sturdy shoes, bring a jacket and bug repellent *Park in the parking lot on County Road NS11, facing north or south, as headlights are a problem with night vision *We will have red flashlights to lend, to protect your night vision and for your safety, or red tape to put on your flashlights.     Come join us for a fun Paint workshop Fundraiser Event!! 50% of funds raised will go to The Back 2 School Bash. We will be painting a 16x20 personalized framed family name sign. The cost is $35 The Back 2 School Bash will take place on Saturday, August 3rd at Living Word Fellowship Church Parking Lot. This event will give children in our community school supplies needed to start the school year. Last year with the help of our community we were able to help 725 students begin the school year with supplies needed for success. We hope that we can count on you to help us make this event our best one yet! This will be the 12th year of the bash. Families are not only from Woodward but Laverne, Shattuck, Seiling, Arnett and more.     Training is free and open to anyone. All beer, wine and alcohol retailers are urged to attend. The sessions will satisfy the training requirements in the new alcohol law that became effective last October. Areas of focus include laws, regulations and ordinances governing the sale and use of alcohol and the consequences for violations, including sales of alcohol to minors, intoxicated persons and the mentally incompetent, checking IDs and determining what IDs are acceptable, adopting and enforcing an alcohol policy and keeping incident records.
