Welcome to Woodward, Oklahoma! Here is a list of five things to do while you are here.

Boiling Springs
5. Visit Boiling Springs State Park
Located 6 miles Northeast of Woodward, Boiling Springs State Park features activities for everyone in the family. Visit the namesake attraction, ‘boiling spring’ just below the park office and then take a hike through 1 of the 5 trails that are perfect for beginners. Boiling Springs also houses many bunkhouses and campsites for a weekend getaway, as well as a pool for the kids to swim and a 7-acre spring fed lake for fishing fanatics!

4.  Visit the Plains Indians and Pioneers Museum
Learn about the historical items that interpret and depict Northwest Oklahoma History at the Plains Indians and Pioneers Museum. From famed lawyer and gunfighter Temple Houston to the American Indian Exhibits that feature the Cheyenne and Arapaho Nations, there is sure to be a good time had by all.

3. Attend the Rodeos
If there is one thing that Woodward, Oklahoma is known for, it’s the rodeos. Hosting rodeo goers of all ages, you can expect to see someone riding a bucking bull and barrel racing almost year-round. Of course, we can’t forget the famous Woodward Elks Rodeo, which is an annual tradition for over 90 years that Woodward locals take great pride in. It’s a week-long experience that starts off with a cattle drive right through downtown. Only the ‘Tuffest of ‘em all’ compete in this great event.

Woodward Theatre
2. See a Show at The Woodward Arts Theatre
Providing Northwest Oklahoma with quality performances, the Historic Woodward Arts Theatre has been enriching the area with arts and culture since the 1920’s when it was a movie theatre. The restored building immerses you in history, that only it can. Woodward Arts Theatre is also home to the Twister Alley Film Festival, which brings individuals from all over to showcase their films. Do not forget to visit the theatre in the evenings while the historic marquee is lit up with neon! It’s truly a Woodward gem

Crystal Beach
1. Go Play at Crystal Beach Park
Right next to the Woodward Rodeo Arena, Crystal Beach Park is a can’t forget location when visiting Woodward. With activities for the whole family, you are guaranteed to have a good time. Crystal Beach Lake is great for the avid fisherman, and the mini golf course sits right next to the 9-hole Municipal Golf Course that includes a driving range to practice your back swing. The park also hosts several playground equipment areas and a walking trail around the park. Make sure and bring your family out during Crystal Christmas in November and December to see the beautiful lights display as well!
