A Growing Hub for Aviation

This exciting event comes at a pivotal time for West Woodward Airport, which is currently undergoing a significant expansion. The ongoing construction and improvements, including a new $3.7 million terminal building, new corporate hangar, and runway extension, are designed to position the airport as a regional hub for aviation and economic growth in the area. These projects, supported by state funding through the Preserving Rural Economic Prosperity (PREP) program, will bring new jobs, business opportunities, and enhance the airport’s role as a vital transportation center in Oklahoma’s growing aviation and aerospace sectors.

Tom Fisher, Mayor of Woodward, shared at the groundbreaking ceremony in September, “Today marks a significant milestone for the City of Woodward and West Woodward Airport… These improvements will profoundly shape the future of our community and Northwest Oklahoma.”

West Woodward Airport is also home to a variety of services, including route planning, WSI weather, a pilot lounge, and A&P certified mechanics for inspections and repairs. Additionally, the airport offers courtesy cars, jet fuel, 100LL fuel, and overnight hangars to support aviation activities.
