Woodward’s Spring Clean Up Day: Earth Day Meets the Great American Clean-Up in Woodward

Woodward Tourism and the City of Woodward are excited to announce the Woodward Spring Clean-Up Day on April 22, 2025, in celebration of Earth Day and as part of the Great American Clean-Up initiative. This community-wide event invites individuals, families, and organizations to join in a collective effort to clean up public spaces throughout the town, helping to make Woodward a cleaner, greener place to live, work, and visit.

The City of Woodward is proud to be an affiliate of Keep Oklahoma Beautiful, and thanks to their generous support, they will provide this event with 100 safety vests, 100 pairs of gloves, and 300 trash bags for the volunteers. Additionally, Woodward Tourism will be providing water, sunscreen, lip balm, and hand sanitizer to ensure volunteers stay hydrated and protected during the clean-up.

Event Details:

  • Date: Tuesday, April 22, 2025 (Earth Day)

  • Time Details:

    • 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM - Check-in and supplies pick-up

    • 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM - Town-wide clean-up

    • 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM - Trash drop-off

  • Location: Clean up all across town, but supplies pick-up and trash drop-off will take place at the Downtown Business Center - 1009 9th Street, Woodward, OK

Volunteers are invited to meet at the Downtown Business Center between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM to sign in and receive their supplies. The clean-up will take place across town, and participants are welcome to clean any public property or obtain landowner permission for private areas.

“We want to encourage everyone in Woodward to take pride in our community,” said Megan Johnston, the Director of Woodward's Tourism Department. “This clean-up day is a great opportunity for residents, organizations, and visitors to come together and make a lasting impact on the beauty and well-being of our town.”

All completed trash bags can be returned to the Downtown Business Center after the clean-up for proper disposal, between 3:00PM and 6:00 PM. The goal is to make Woodward shine while fostering a sense of community pride and responsibility.

How You Can Help:

  • Volunteer: Whether as an individual or as part of a group, everyone is welcome to join the clean-up effort. Sign up by showing up at the Downtown Business Center on Tuesday, April 22.

  • Pick a Spot: If you have a specific area in mind that needs attention, feel free to focus your efforts there, as long as it's a public space or you’ve received permission from the landowner.

  • Share the Word: Spread the word to friends, family, and colleagues to get more people involved.

Woodward Tourism is committed to making this year’s clean-up event a huge success, and we’re counting on the community’s enthusiasm and dedication to help keep Woodward beautiful for generations to come.
